sculpted head -this piece was modeled whole, trimmed into segments and cored. This may be the only piggy bank I have ever made. Bare clay fired to cone six oxidation. last spotted at a friend's house. |
tiled space scene - I have always loved science fiction. Measuring in at four foot by six foot this piece is my largest work to date. The texture on the surface comes from my hands and feet. cone six oxidation painted with spray paint. this piece was sold to a friend, but the condition is unknown. |
vase - this piece was an experiment using thick slips dried on the surface of clay then stacked and flattened into a slab creating the surface decoration. Clear glaze on clay fired to cone six oxidation. whereabouts unknown. |

incised plate - One of my first uses of porcelain, this plate was covered with a blue and black slip checkerboard pattern with the line pattern carved into the surface of the clay. This piece was my first accepted show entry, and an early example of patterns found throughout my future work. This piece fell and broke while in use during a party in 1995. A noble way to die. |
oil lamp - a series of wicked oil lamps were made during this time. Most with metal legs made from various materials (brad nails for this piece). I may be mistaken, but I believe this piece was salt-fired with a cobalt chloride wash. whereabouts unknown |
